As part of the 25th-anniversary celebration of Broadway Across Canada, join Cady Heron as she navigates the treacherous jungle of cliques, gossip, and teenage drama.

“It’s been a true privilege to share in the Broadway experience with our loyal patrons for what’s been an incredible 25 years. Mean Girls – The Musical is a stage adaptation of the popular 2004 teen comedy film “Mean Girls,” written by Tina Fey that opened on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre in April 2018. The musical expands on the original story and delves much deeper into the lives of the main characters with the addition of catchy songs, dance numbers, and witty dialogue.

The story revolves around Cady, a teenager who moves from Africa to the suburban jungle of Illinois. As she enters North Shore High School, Cady finds herself navigating the complex social hierarchy of high school cliques. She befriends Janis Ian and Damian, who gives her the lowdown on the school’s most powerful and feared group: The Plastics. This group is led by Regina George, a manipulative queen bee, along with her loyal sidekicks Gretchen Wieners and Karen Smith. Fascinated by the glamorous world of the group, Cady infiltrates their clique, leaving behind her true friends. As Cady becomes entangled in a web of lies and deceit, she loses sight of her real self. Tensions rise, secrets are exposed, and friendships are tested. With Janis and Damian’s guidance, Cady realizes the importance of staying true to herself and embracing her individuality.
