The 1980 American epic space opera film The Empire Strikes Back, (Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back), was directed by Irvin Kershner and was based on a story by George Lucas and with screenplay by Leigh Brackett and Lawrence Kasdan. The second movie in the Star Wars film series and the fifth chronological chapter of the "Skywalker Saga" is the follow-up to Star Wars (1977). The film, which takes place three years after the events of Star Wars, tells the story of the conflict between Princess Leia's Rebel Alliance and the evil Galactic Empire, headed by the Emperor. In order to take on the formidable Sith Lord Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker trains to become a Force expert. The incredible ensemble of this film includes Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, David Prowse, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and Frank Oz.

John Williams wrote the score for Star Wars: Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. The London Symphony Orchestra recorded the score in 18 sessions over three days in December 1979 and six more days in January 1980 at the Anvil Studios and the Abbey Road Studios. Williams has also employed the London Symphony Orchestra for the film's score of Dracula, Superman, and The Fury between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back. Williams received another Oscar nomination for the score.
Five days prior to the movie's premiere, the soundtrack was first made available as a 75-minute double LP, but it was only half that length on the first compact disc release.

The movie was a huge success not only because of the plot, but also because of its score. "The Imperial March" as the theme for Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire, "Yoda's Theme", and "Han Solo and the Princess" are forever playing in the hearts of Star Wars’ fans of different generations!

To celebrate such creation, under the direction of Francis Choiniere, Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back In Concert will feature not only a remastered version of the hit 1980 film, but it will actually take audience through a space adventure with the musical score performed LIVE by FILMharmonic Orchestra.

This is bound to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family!
