Satinder Sartaaj is a Punjabi singer-songwriter, poet, and actor who rose to prominence after appearing in the historical drama film, The Black Prince. The award-winning performer pursued music early in his career. He was discovered by promoters after he was seen singing on Youtube. Sartaaj was invited to perform in a concert catering to a Punjabi-Canadian audience.
After his phenomenal breakthrough, Sartaaj toured worldwide and gained prominence in Europe and North America. He has also performed in some of the world’s most iconic venues, including the Royal Albert Hall in London. In 2011, he won the Brit Asia TV Music Award (BAMA) for Best International Act. In 2017 and 2018, he won two more BAMAs for Best Songwriter and Music Video of the Year for the song “Udaarian.” Satinder Sartaaj has released over 13 studio efforts and several non-album singles. He also sang in several film title tracks, the latest being “Shava Ni Girdhari Lal.” Moreover, the acclaimed actor made his American film debut when he took on the lead role of Maharaja Duleep Singh in The Black Prince.
Last year, Sartaaj released five critically-acclaimed singles, “Kamaal Ho Gea,” “Nadan Jehi Aas,” “Dil Gaunda Firda,” “Titli,” “Zara Faasley Te,” and “Jaan Ke Bhuleke.” Early this 2023, Sartaaj’s latest Punjabi film Kali Jotta was released and received wide acclaim from fans and critics.
